The Farmington Canal Heritage Trail used to be the noisy New Haven & Northampton Railroad. Now, it’s a quiet 132-kilometer interstate mixed-use trail. I took my e-bike out for one last ride before winter. Of course, it looks like Kinsmen Brewing in Southington decided to get on the trail, too.

Bad news for my fellow Nutmeggers: City Steam Brewing, our state’s second brewery after Prohibition (after Cottrell in Pawcatuck, since closed), is shutting their doors on March 31, after 27 years in business in downtown Hartford.

Check out my final Yelp review for City Steam Brewery.  https://yelp.to/iYyiSHe7C6 Then, check your local package store and buy all the Naughty Nurse you can find.

News from the Connecticut beer scene: after ten years of taproom beer and limited canning, DuVig Brewing is calling it quits this weekend. So long, and thanks for a better cream ale than Genesee. #ctbeer
