Now the 2nd part of "Persistent identifiers and knowledge graphs" starts at #cris2024.
Currently the approach of the national CRIS of Serbia. A lot of presentations on national or regional CRIS here. I wonder when we will have the first serious attempt in Germany. It's overdue.
Secret key topic of the #CRIS2024 seems to be funding. How to fund #opensource software, how to fund #openinfrastructures, how to enable a diverse ecosystem for #OpenResearchInformation.
2nd big topic: #AI. There seems to be a consensus that we should not throw AI at everything. Oftentimes other approaches are as effective, but much less power and resource hungry and without all the ethical problems, for example ML for subject indexing (#Annif).
Keynote by Natalia Manola, CEO of #OpenAIRE. She promised better and easier to use APIs for the OpenAIRE knowledge graph. Would be great, our investigations during the TAPIR project where not really promising.
@fwf will sign or has signed the #barcelonadeclaration !
First presentation was about linking project metadata to publicatins in researchportal.be. Lively discussion on ways to do this. Objectives: Transparency and reducing adminstrative burden.
