The ceremony reflects an older system built around annual milestones, while independent film now takes shape continuously across new platforms.

I realise it’s been a while since I properly introduced myself, so here goes:

I’m Mel, and I create content about remote work, customer advocacy/support, the behind-the-scenes life at @bufferapp and working from home with two young kids.

I share stories and reflections for people who care about meaningful work, connection across time zones, and the human side of tech and support.

Whether you’ve been here a while or just joined, I’m really glad you’re here. 💛

Not @buffer's #creatorcamp getting me to be more intentional about my time this year! This is a mini version of a larger calendar I plan to set up (inspired by Jesse Itzler's big a** calendar). It is still a WIP.

📅 Are there any calendars/planners/plans you swear by to keep you in track for the year?

Last week, I decided to take part in @buffer's #creatorcamp, where I would join other Bufferoos and creatives to post every day for 30 days. While it started as something "fun" to do, what it has really done is given me insight on some of my biggest insecurities. One of which is how I'm perceived by others.

In 2025, I am committing to pushing through these uncomfortable feelings and putting myself out there.

For regular posters - does this feeling go away? 😅

📆Adding time to my calendar to dedicate to this. Habit forming can be incredibly hard so setting aside dedicated focus time is going to be necessary here 😅

- no one (least of all clients) is interested in what you wrote on a forum fifteen years ago, only in seeing reels of kittens
- now that profile with that weird name is associated with a lot of things I've done in this life
