Somewhere in Norway there's a metal band called "Radium Suppository."

I don't know if this is true; I just really, really want it to be.

Pluralistic: All laws are local (05 Feb 2026) – Pluralistic: Daily links from Cory Doctorow

AI is asbestos in the walls of our tech society, stuffed there by monopolists run amok. A serious fight against it must strike at its roots

The Guardian

"There's a reason that fascists attack unions first. It's because the opposite of fascism is solidarity."

Enshittification With Ed Zitron at the Seattle Public Library | Cory Doctorow's craphound.com

Cory Doctorow believes that the economic crash that will ensue when the "AI" bubble finally bursts will make the GFC look like a mild wobble. Worse, there's nothing any of us can do except burst the bubble as quickly as possible, to reduce the scale of the damage. Bleak stuff, but his logic is hard to fault;

i was trying to mimic the Crap Hound clip art aesthetic with the first two covers, but have shifted on that idea.

Crossing the Pod Streams is always entertaining.

This time I'm listening to #YanisVaroufakis heaping high prais on @pluralistic for his books, blogs, and podcasts, on the #NewBooksNetwork:

(Doctorow of course has been turning up all over the place as he book tours, as well as on his own #Craphound podcast, of which I too am a fan.)

Reading Frenzy ~ Ledger ~ Taking the Piss

A small press emporium in downtown Portland, Oregon.

“Banksy on Advertising” quote that begins “People are taking the piss ...” (2012)

Often cited as "Banksy on Advertising", the passage beginning "People are taking the piss out of you everyday. They butt into your life, take a cheap shot at you and then disappear. They leer at you from tall buildings and make you feel small..." actually borrows heavily from a 1999 essay, "Death, Phones, Sissors" by Sean Tejaratchi published in the zine Crap Hound.

Gawker noted this in 2012 (https://gawker.com/5892332/viral-banksy-quote-on-advertising-plagiarizes-1999-zine-essay), though the passage still turns up routinely as credited to Banksy alone, as in on Goodreads: https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/461383-people-are-taking-the-piss-out-of-you-everyday-they

Viral Banksy Quote on Advertising Plagiarizes 1999 Zine Essay

"People are taking the piss out of you everyday," begins "Banksy on Advertising." The four-paragraph quote has been widely distributed on Twitter and Tumblr, with attribution given to the elusive (and still anonymous) artist Banksy.
