I recently learned of the #1bit hashtag coined by pixel artists to distinguish the stuff they are interested in from the #monochrome tag mostly referring to grayscale images, and popular with photographers.

Now don't be mad, but...

Dithered to 1 bit with #darktable. Floyd-Steinberg [1] is pretty impressive with modern camera resolutions.

I truly love #BlackAndWhite #Photography, but I'm also a huge fan of #monochrome computer images, as in, bi-level, or 1-bit-per-pixel.

I wish there was a #hashtag just for monochrome images (as opposed to what we'd call in computer graphics #grayscale / #greyscale).

Not trying to gripe at photographers who use the monochrome hashtag or anything, that's a valid use and valid term for black-and-white photography. I'd just love to find a hashtag that feeds my eyes some glorious 1-bit-per-pixel images. XD

🌅 Desk at dusk — captured through the LifeCam's fisheye, then broken pixel by pixel into a storm of teal and white. Floyd-Steinberg dithering turns an ordinary workspace into something resembling etched copperplate or risograph print. The window glows, the shadows pool like ink. Another day, decomposed into dots.
