ok so. i tried #handspinning a bit of #Coopworth wool a couple days ago, it stained my hand orange? and made my fingertips absolutely throb, like an allergic reaction almost, seemingly unconnected to the orange. i suspect there was some coating in the wool, because I tried soaking the rest of it in conditioner and hot water for an hour or two and the finger pain significantly lessened and the orange stain entirely went away. so i have technically finished that yarn, but i don't think I'll use it and I don't really want to post photos of it. today and yesterday I tried some #BluefaceLeicester wool from a different etsy shop, it's SO SOFT and it has brown and white fibers, so it spun into some fun colors, although i do wish the colors had stayed more separate, lots of it turned out kinda boring gray. I'll definitely try to pay attention to that with the rest of it. it's currently drying out after the post-spin soaking, I'll post photos tomorrow.
