Malvina Poulain était une ouvrière communarde amie de Louise Michel. Il s’agit de rendre hommage à une femme presque inconnue comme l’étaient les milliers de femmes engagées dans la Commune de Paris, et plus particulièrement à celles de la « barricade des femmes » qu’elles ont vaillamment défendue entre le 21 et 27 mai.
