I've noticed many very interesting twitter friends here for awhile with tiny follower/following numbers so I thought I would point out a Fediverse axiom I learned:
Follow away! Follow anyone who seems interesting to you. Follow hashtags that reflect your interests to discover persons you may want to follow. Once you have followed a couple hundred interesting persons your timeline becomes fun and your followers number will swell.
Screw the algorithm- BE the algorithm!
