Colloidal silver is a suspension of microscopic particles of silver, usually in water, that has gained an undeserved reputation as a cure-all with claims that it is a natural broad-spectrum antibiotic, antifungal, & antiviral agent, & as a nonspecific "immune system booster". There are also claims that it is able to treat serious diseases such as AIDS, Lyme, etc.β€” which are all groundless woo. Colloidal silver is used topically by applying with a dropper to the skin (for example, as an antiseptic on cuts), or taken internally. There is no empirical evidence that it is effective at all when taken internally for anything except making you look like a Smurf. The US CFR prohibits vendors from claiming any health benefit from colloidal silver or silver salt-based products. The medical consensus is that colloidal silver, despite being readily available as a "health supplement", is dangerous & provides no health benefits.

Colloidal silver

Colloidal silver is a suspension of microscopic particles of silver, usually in water, that has gained an undeserved reputation as a cure-all with claims that it is a natural broad-spectrum antibiotic, antifungal, and antiviral agent, and as a nonspecific "immune system booster". There are also claims that it is able to treat serious diseases such as AIDS, Lyme disease, tuberculosis, and COVID-19[2][3] β€” which are all groundless woo. Colloidal silver is used topically by applying with a dropper to the skin (for example, as an antiseptic on cuts), or taken internally. There is no empirical evidence that it is effective at all when taken internally for anything except making you look like a Smurf. (And not a particularly healthy Smurf, either.)[4] The United States Code of Federal Regulations prohibits vendors from claiming any health benefit from colloidal silver or silver salt-based products.[5][note 1] The medical consensus is that colloidal silver, despite being readily available as a "health supplement", is dangerous and provides no health benefits. So, basically, it's the exact opposite of a health supplement, like so much of what alternative medicine peddles.[6][7][note 2]

@stephen Thanks for this. I've taken colloidal silver a few times in the past - never for long - and had no idea about argyria. #HealthWarning #SideEffects #ColloidalSilver #Argyria
COVID-19 Is Bringing Back One of the Oldest and Strangest Fake Cures

Colloidal silver, one of the oldest faux cure-alls, has made an unsurprising comeback in the pandemic age.

the #deepstate is suppressing #information about the efficacy of #colloidalsilver for #bigpharma wake up!. #feetpics

Around four or five years ago is the first time I heard about "colloidal silver." I never got serious about the substance since the information seemed to be all over the place. Until now...
