When is the City of #Detroit going to sue local slumlord, Dennis Kefallinos, and his dipshit son for the way that The Michigan Theatre Building is being left to rot?
Are they getting hit with blight violations at least?
It’s fucking absurd that this building is not being put to work.
I can see, right now from the Transit app, that tomorrow's bus service will have similar issues.
I hope that the powers that be at the #Mackinac Policy Conference put regional transit in their Thinking Caps because if you want to talk about a top population and economic vibrancy killer... this is it.
Bus service **needs** to be complemented by intracity and regional #rail for a population center this size (and one in which we hope to grow).
No other way to do it.
I am working on a longer "response" to this.
In my view, #Michigan and #Detroit have assets and vast pools of human creativity and talent, here, already studying and living in the state and city, that are being tragically underutilized.
This article presents some ideas, but they are far too crude and high-level to be actually useful.
That needs to be honed quite a bit.
Almost every state in the nation is growing faster, causing economic hardship for Michigan residents and businesses. State leaders are looking to reverse the trend. If we can’t be Florida, can we at least be Indiana?
