This is Martin Vincenzo Maozkilla the 3rd. He's a local stray that our neighborhood cares for. He won't enter anyone's house but will scratch at the door for food or treats.
He was first named Marty, for a local who lost part of his ear in a bar fight. Another neighbor calls him Vincent, after famous artist Van Gogh.

Marty's ear was first clipped after he was neutered. We suspect he lost the rest in a fight. Or maybe he scratched it too much. Who knows the life of an alley cat?

Unwisely, we decided to hike to a viewpoint on what was our hottest day so far. It was 37C, feeling more like 45C as we took the #CityCat to #Regatta & walked to #Brisbane Botanic Gardens, dripping wet in the humid heat. We continued up the trail, stopping to cool off in the trickle of Slaughter Falls. We later reached the lookout at Mount Coot-tha, hard-earned by us, unlike those sensible people stepping off an air-conditioned bus at the summit to take in the same far-reaching view. #Australia
