Saif al-Din Darwish, 14, was one of the youngest Palestinian captives released by Israel in the hostage exchange with Hamas last month. The freed child prisoner says they were kept in crowded rooms, were cut off entirely from the outside world, and were forced to ration very little food and water.

Decided not to. So the UK is funding the illegal detention of children, some as young as nine, in Syria:

"The UN wrote to the British government in 2022 saying it believed the UK was providing up to Β£20m to fund the detention camps, including one containing 690 boys, some as young as nine."

The money could have been used to repatriate, assimilate and house the children in the UK. What is wrong with these people?

Heartbreaking Disparity: Child Detainees in Canada vs. Israel

This report compares the treatment of Palestinian child detainees in the Israeli-occupied West Bank to both Jewish settler detainees that live in the same territory and Canadian child detainees. In doing so, this analysis exposes the disparity in the way that Palestinian children are treated, as part of Israel’s system of apartheid and state-sponsored violence against Palestinian children. At the end, several recommendations for the Canadian government to take to protect the rights of Palestinian Children are provided.
