I'm really puzzled over the state-of-the art regarding basic CLI tools on #Linux: To verify integrity of my #ZFS pool migration I was looking for a _fast_ file #checksum tool with _modern_ #hash support.

Boy, this is sad:

- #hashdeep : just freezes, idling

- #RHash : Works sufficiently; but even v1.4.6 caps on 60MB/s on 25% CPU

- #cfv : My former 1st choice. Though a friendly fork reinstated maint.: It's Python hence not highspeed

I was working on the new BashCore build when the process suddenly failed because the Metasploit #APT #repository returned a “file has unexpected size” error... 😳😩🤔

Seems like a temporary #checksum #mismatch during #mirror #sync, hopefully nothing serious. Rebuilding now to see if it’s fixed.
