Tonight’s #TheOneRing game was pretty satisfying. I’m burning through Hope quickly but I think I’m playing Master Oak convincingly.
Who’s Master Oak?
When Perceval was 13, he was taken from his home and ushered into the life of a page. Within weeks he was on the front line at the Battle of the Five Armies in November of 2941. He remembers being given a outsized mail shirt and a spear; both of which he carries today. In the aftermath of the battle, he was alone - his master having been slain. He and hundreds of survivors were shooed from Laketown and he eventully found his way to Bree, where he worked fields to keep a roof over his head. He's worked in Bree for the last 24 years as a Watchman, part-time Barman and part-time whatever else he could muster to keep a roof. Twelve years ago he married Etta and they had a son, Tom, but it was not to last as Etta and Tom succumbed to fever three summers ago. Perceval has not been the same since, people say. Always has a faraway look in his eye...
