My first ride on the Muni Central Subway going to Chinatown today. Stairs! (And escalators that I hope are extremely durable). Glad this is finally in operation. Also a cool Bruce Lee cake I saw on the side of a bakery truck afterwards.

The #SanFrancisco #CentralSubway makes me want to pay a lot more attention to #transit projects that are many many years out, because there’s a chance to stop more of the catastrophic concessions and shortcuts that transit capital projects inevitably attract. It’s full of fundamental issues, and avoiding even a few of them would’ve made it a much more useful system.
