Unknown "paintbrush", Castilleja species, on a steep slope above Highway 101 north of Leggett California. I passed by this on the way to checking out the wallflower in the previous post. Getting this picture involved scrambling up a steep, collapsing slope with patches of poison oak.
Clintonia andrewsiana
There is a lovely little patch of these in the old growth redwoods just north of Redway, CA. I saw them for the first time last year.
my ca native plants are doing so well.......here are some that aren't currently flowering , but soon will.
1 - Farewell to Spring (Clarkia amoena (about to pop))
2 - Pink Honeysuckle (Lonicera Hispidula)
3 - A single strand of California Buckwheat (Eriogonum fasciculatum)
4 - Caterpillar Flower (Phacelia bolanderi)
All three are part of the twelve new photos added to my ever-growing collection of native plants in San Diego County. Here they are. :)
