Ultreia 3.0

After this year's #Camino walks, we finally get to go back to making deep changes to the app. #CaminoNow is now #Ultreia (insert long story about legal threats and how much of an insane asshole assembly the "Camino App" world is here). Ultreia should be available in very early 2026, with a few super cool additions:

@crossgolf_rebel Mehr oder weniger, ja. Hauptsächlich, weil ich für den Server für #CaminoNow mehr Django lernen wollte, v.A. caching und bessere API (120k Nutzer und so). On being open and inclusive - Camino Now Blog

Camino Now - A modern, community-driven platform for the Caminos. Open, free, accessible, and without ads, tracking, or affiliate links.

A whole week no updates from the #caminofrances. As I wrote before, my main objective in walking the Francés (again) is to update as many accommodations in the #caminoNow App and in #openstreetmap as I can.

102 down, 1034 to go :)

Great sunrises and hot days make the decision to start at 4:30am easy. I usually am in the next town to talk to albergues before breakfast, get 2, 3 more towns in, and then flee from the sun into a café until the albergues reopen.

Arrived in Burgos today, tomorrow we climb up into the high desert, the Meseta, and walk the never ending fields…
