I got spouse a piece of #CalamityWare as an anniversary present; we have been buying each other that for several occasions each year, and at this point we have most of what we want as a service for 4 - only 2 teacups with saucers, but 4 mugs, so that's ok. Didn't want the creamer and sugar bowl to go with the teapot. We have the large platter and the casserole dish, 2 of the biggest pieces, and we even have the soup plates!
Underneath these fantastic cotton napkins from #Calamityware is my first batch of Mary Berry's "Very Best Scones."
They're remarkably similar to American biscuits, honestly. She calls for them to be cut with a fluted cutter. I goofed and used the straight side (my cutters are dual-edged), simply because I'm unused to the fluted side. Oops. Forgive me, Mary.
They rose nicely, though. I suspect they'd have been taller had I used the smaller size, but I didn't want that many scones.
