SKIPTON, VIC. — A successful planned burn has been carried out at Skipton following years of planning to reduce bushfire risk to the township.

Day 2 grassland burns. Mission accomplished, safe & blacked out, no obvious (vertebrate) casualties, a lot of grasshoppers and mantises (and a mouse) seen safely exiting the burn area.

All over bar the smoking... 😁

This photo is from the same window as my other window fire pics. Curiously, for a burn named Aeroplane Hills HR, Aeroplane Hills look largely untouched from my angle. (so named because a Wirraway plane crashed there in 1940 https://www.ozatwar.com/ozcrashes/nsw74.htm - I saw what still remained, umm 20y ago... )
