The #skyline series #dome car clearly is the star on VIA Rail’s 🇨🇦 train from #Churchill, MB. The seats under the glass cupola offer the best views. Just like the other cars in the consist, this one comes with a #Budd designed, stainless steel car-body. It was built in the 1950s.

The VIA Rail 🇨🇦 train from #Churchill, MB, is hauled by two Class #F40PH locomotives. The #Budd #HEP consist includes a bag-dorm baggage car, two standard class seaters, a dome car, and a sleeper, just five cars in total.
The first stop in the morning, at dawn, is at #Gillam, 184 miles or 8.5 hours from Churchill.

Just called my #Congressmen #Knott, #Tillis and #Budd. Only Knott had someone I could talk to. Left #VMs for other two. Asked for statement on US Rep quoting Joseph Goebbels, ethics for a #President accepting gifts from #foreign #gov, about ethics of a #potus using crypto, #defunding #school #lunches but funding #military #parade. Person was nice and said "Well I haven't discussed those topics with the #Congressman, but I'll pass it along." Really? No one is talking about this shit?!?

Welcoming Descent of Jizō | Cleveland Museum of Art

This painting depicts the bodhisattva Jizō—an enlightened being who refuses entry into nirvana in order to aid other beings in their quest for enlightenment—in the guise of a monk carrying a wish-fulfilling jewel and a golden staff with a finial adorned with jingling rings. He descends with each of his feet balanced atop a lotus pedestal borne by clouds to rescue a suffering believer who has called out for his help. Images of the Welcoming Descent of Jizō may be related to the Kasuga Shrine, where Jizō corresponds to the <em>kami </em>(Shinto deity) of the third shrine.

#Chicago|land 🇺🇸 is home to a dense rail network. The western approach, nicknamed BNSF “Chicago Racetrack”, is among the country’s busiest railway lines. The stainless steel bi-level “Gallery Cars” designed by #Budd in the 1950s are still to be seen in #Metra #BNSF commuter trains.
