While hanging out with my teen at the farmers market job yesterday, I walked over to the main walkway intersection- and someone had dropped what appeared to be a dirty diaper in a bag in the middle of thecwalkway. Ugh.
So I got a dog dump bag, and removed it to a nearby trash can. 2 min job, tops.
Now, here’s what really got me though- It had bern there for at least an hour, within 15’(5m) of the Boy Scout popcorn sales booth.
It used to be if a scout saw trash like that, you just picked it up and disposed of it (aka: clear the area).
Not these guys (or adult leadership) - “Wanna buy our popcorn?”
Uhm, no thank you kiddo, not until you act like a boy scout should. (aka baden powell ideals)
(also friends: Don’t make this a Scouting bashing thread, please- because I lived through that- because for me, that’s NOT what scouting was EVER meant to be like & I hate the BSUSA leadership of the ‘90’s for what actually happened to scouting.)

@SiEstUbiEst I raise you Pottery Beach on Brownsea Island in the UK. The birthplace of Scouting, and also lots of pottery.

#Brownsea

#Brownsea island shouldn’t have brown sea contaminated with oil lapping it’s shoreline. It’s a magical haven. Complex ecosystems and rare species live there.

Given its scientific status and world renown in scouting and guiding circles, who were the politicians who signed off against the risk of pumping #oil from nearby Wytch Farm, #PooleHarbour in the first place? #Tories.
