Gutted that this has happened just along the coast. Perenco have questions to answer; an oilfield located next to such a haven for wildlife should build in multiple levels of safety to stop accidents from ever happening.
We consider ourselves -as a race - technically advanced, so instead of ploughing money into pointless self-driving cars, let's focus on cleaning up our act & living in harmony with nature, not wrecking it with pollutants at every turn.
You can read in #Hansard, the unease in 1984 when the #Tories under #Thatcher flogged #WytchFarm in #PooleHarbour. They knew it was a national asset and showed a distinct lack of care regarding the conservation of the area of outstanding natural beauty then.
It was considered to be worth between £200,000,000 and £400,000,000 at that point.

Given its scientific status and world renown in scouting and guiding circles, who were the politicians who signed off against the risk of pumping #oil from nearby Wytch Farm, #PooleHarbour in the first place? #Tories.
