Seriously, I hope what I’m doing with getting more comfort using the leg support wedge and the closed toe medical shoe helps me heal. Here it’s 9 hours later and I left the new shoe on most of the day. I’m going to have to put the giant boot back on when I go to bed. Boo!

Results: after short spurts of necessary walking changing rooms, I had more time in the recliner and now in the evening lying on the bed. NO pain meds were needed! I hope someone comes on this post and photo for suggestions if stuck wearing a giant medical boot for 1-2 months. Good ideas here if they have a loved one who has to deal with a broken toe. #BrokenToe #MedicalShoe #MedicalBoot #Wedge #Comfort

Relaxing not walking around or standing too long. Stupid broken toe has 2 breaks, not one. So medical boot most of the time. Upgraded today with a cheap closed toe medical shoe to switch with the booth for short periods. I’ve got a minimum of 2 weeks more of this nonsense. New shoe $33 and wedge for leg support $29. Well worth the price.

The wedge for leg support usually used just in bed. It’s 2 parts so you can pull up the Velcro tabs to add or remove the bottom cushion to adjust height. I’m using only the top cushion while in recliner. Got out my very fuzzy socks too. Maybe I won’t need a pain med today!

Ouch, You Klutz

Yup. Self harm. Not on purpose, just due to me being an accident prone klutz. For shame, Robert.

Last night I was walking from the kitchen to my bedroom, fully intending to jump into bed and go to sleep for the night. Instead of doing that though, I stubbed my toe on a little piece of furniture that lives next to my bed. I stubbed my toe really, really hard. Oh my fuck did it hurt. Like… I almost screamed, involuntarily. It hurt.

My first thought upon getting myself under control so that I could think about something other than how much it hurt was did I just break my toe? At the time I didn’t think so. This morning though…

When I woke up six or seven hours later my toe still hurt. I limped a little as I walked around but I was okay. I was asking myself if I was going to be able to do my morning exercise which normally involves a lot of running in place. I thought I’d be okay. Then I put my shoes on. Nope. My foot was swollen enough that wearing a sneaker made it hurt a lot more. Nope, no running in place for me. I did my 45 minutes of exercise on our stationary bike instead.

I started wondering yet again, did I break my toe? I was pretty convinced that I did. Now, a full work day later, I don’t know. It still hurts like a mutha, but not as much as it did. Is it broken or not? I don’t know. I will live with it for a couple of days. If it doesn’t feel better by Friday I’ll go see a doctor. I think it will be okay. Well… physically it will be okay. Psychologically? Emotionally? Spiritually? Not so much… you friggin’ doofus.

#NFL #Niners

As far as the standings go, the Niners (6-4) are looking a lot like the #SFGiants sitting in 3rd place in the NFL West Division behind the #Seahawks (7-2) & #Rams (7-2) and only ahead of the #Cardinals (3-6) who they play this coming Sunday 11/16 with little chance of making the playoffs.🤦‍♂️

So, there's no doubt the all of the injuries have taken their toll on both sides of the line. 🤷‍♂️

There's a chance that Purdy will start in this game but, after having skipped most of the 1st 1/2 of the season due to #TurfToe (which for as long as it has taken to heal must have been a #BrokenToe), I expect him to be rusty & out of synch with the remaining receivers on the field &, as much as I hope to the contrary, his performance isn't likely to be pretty.

Nonetheless . . .

Go Niners!!! 🥳🥳🥳
