I come across lost/abandoned #keys surprisingly often. But only twice have I seen lost #locks.
One was on the stairs into Old Street #LondonUnderground station, the other in either a long removed train cutting, or a dry tributary of the Burnt Oak Brook. (Or both!)

My #LawnTractor lost brakes today. Turns out the splines of the brake rotor are worn out, so the rotor can rotate on the shaft almost freely. Hence brakes not working.
