Karl had brought along the new version of Unhappy King Charles to show off. I didn't know copies were already being delivered!. It looks good. And UKC still passed the #bristolmaptest with flying colours.

The #reddit user birsey has created a #lordoftherings style map for the Bristol area of the West Country. No comments about hobbitses, country yokels, and hairy feet please. Nice bit of drawling mind.

It passes the #BristolMapTest with ease.

Finally finished my Lord of the Rings style map of Bristol and the surrounding area with pretty much all of your suggestions included!

@Volko As expected Plantagenet passes the #boardgame #BristolMapTest with ease.

I had high hopes the that recently released Europa Universalis: The Price of Power #boardgame would do well in the #BristolMapTest. But alas, no.

The map consists of white bordered “areas” that contain a number of named shield spaces that are called “provinces. The naming seems inconsistent. Some “provinces” are indeed such while others are named after some large town or city.

The not real title of Wessex is used as a catch-all for the West Country. They could have used that title instead 😜

Just got Banish the Snakes #boardgame by #GMTGames. Nice bit of map art. Rather interested to see the name “Bristol Channel” on the small Britain map. The channel is named after the city, and the city did not yet exist. It did not get the current name until much later after the locals munged the Saxon name with their wonky local accent. Roight me babber!

The #BristolMapTest started on Tw1tter and I ain’t on that anymore. So I’m thinking I need to resurrect it here or on #BGG. #boardgames

Some more pics of yesterday’s play of Age of Renaissance. The Papal Decree card twice caused consternation around the table. It stopped folks buying advances. I’m glad I was sat between Genoa and Spain to avoid fisticuffs!

The AOR map fails the #BristolMapTest. Why name the space after Portsmouth?
Ugh 🤪
