#Jólabókaflóðið #BookFlood Fabulous! How clever is my book giver?! Really looking forward to this, recommended via #Bookstodon "We are all ghosts in the forest" by Lorraine Wilson

For the mystery book swap this year I got Agatha Christie's Miss Marple mystery: At Bertram's Hotel and the Boyf got HG Wells War of the World's.

Looking forward to reading it as I haven't actually read any original Christie before.

@lisacordaro At a job I had a long time ago it became a competition among me and two co-workers to see who got the most books as Christmas gifts.

The other two usually won, as they had larger extended families, hence more gift opportunities. But one year I got a trilogy! Three books in one! And a couple more besides.

In the five or so years we all worked together there was never a year when any of us didn't get at least one book.

Done incredibly well out of #BookFlood this year. Franzen may be a bit of a curmudgeon, but I *love* his writing. Never heard of Tim Winton, but it's a gift from an Aussie mate and it sounds unreal! https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cloudstreet #Books #bookstodon #Books #Christmas

Cracking read, with some practical advice about changing our biodiversity bad habits. Mushroom kits and composting are high on my list. #bookflood
Most utterly excellent. Well done @JuliaGillard and contributors!! Particularly impressed by Jess Hill’s essay on coercive control & why men can’t hack being laughed at. Apart from anything else, my next tattoo has now been decided — not now, not ever. #bookflood
