Comment éradiquer définitivement la pauvreté dans un monde où il est désormais illusoire de tout miser sur la sacro-sainte croissance ? C’est à cette question que nous essaierons de trouver des réponses ce soir à l’occasion de la conférence Beyond Growth 2025 (deux ans déjà depuis la première édition !). La misère étend son empire, les limites planétaires sont déjà quasiment toutes dépassées… Il est plus que temps que nous menions collectivement ce débat : que fait-on quand le modèle dominant ne fonctionne plus ? 📅 Mardi 9 décembre – 19:00-21:00 📍 Parlement européen, Bruxelles 📺 Retransmission en direct (interprétation en français) — lien en commentaire C’est Bas Eickhout, co-président du groupe les Verts/ALE, qui ouvrira la soirée. Suivront les interventions d’Olivier De Schutter, Rapporteur spécial de l’ONU sur l’extrême pauvreté, et de Mario Nava, directeur général de la DG Emploi, Affaires sociales et Inclusion. Nous enchaînerons ensuite sur un débat qui réunira Milena Büchs, professeure à l’Université de Leeds, Isabelle Schömann, secrétaire générale adjointe de la Confédération européenne des syndicats, Dra Marianna Leite, directrice des programmes au Center for Economic and Social Rights (CESR), Chloé Mikolajczak, militante pour la justice environnementale et sociale, ainsi qu’Olivier De Schutter. Face à l’ampleur de la tâche, nous devons mettre tout le monde autour de la table pour nous donner les moyens de penser hors des sentiers battus : député.e.s européen.ne.s, décideurs de haut niveau de l’UE, organisations syndicales, société civile, experts académiques et voix engagées… C’est précisément ce que nous construisons avec Beyond Growth.
