For a President who doesn't get much attention these days, #BenjaminHarrison was surprisingly progressive. During his one term in office, Congress passed the Sherman #Anti-Trust Act, set up the Forest Reserve system (which Harrison immediately acted upon, creating the forerunner to the #NationalForests), and added the first new #NationalParks since Yellowstone almost 20 years before.
On July 4, 1888, Benjamin Harrison informally accepted the GOP nomination for president from his porch.
