Do you remember Bear In The Window? A time when we went out of our way to be kind and do something for people we had never met and were unlikely to meet again?

It seems too many people these days go out of their way to be hateful. The are too many angry people in the world who would rather complain about advocates doing something to make our communities more inclusive, than actually do something themselves.

Let's remember to spread love, not hate and work together to be more inclusive.

#FlashbackFriday - Bear In The Window.

Remember when we were all struggling with this new concept of a lockdown? We were looking for creative ways to keep our community connected and find some happiness. Anything to fight the tedium! The kids especially found it difficult, so one of the initiatives I initiated in my community was #BearInTheWindow.
The concept was easy enough; grab a teddy bear, place it in your window and when the children went out with their parents for their allocated exercise time, they could go Teddy Bear spotting! I had lot's of teddy bears and lots of windows - so I had them everywhere!
Other neighbours soon followed suit and the kids in my neighbourhood loved it. I loved hearing their sweet giggling voices as they enjoyed their evening stroll.
Here are just a few of the bears I placed in my windows...and on furniture (believe me - there were a lot more!)
