i assume a better source on the spec docs starts here:

and that some of the key diffs are addition of #JSONLD (including a handful of LD security elements) and reliance on #microformats and (importantly) #bearcaps

#WebFinger, #ActivityPub (formerly #ActivityStreams) are still in active use.

and #Atom, #PubSub, & #Salmon are no longer in activce use.
