Actually it's a long, narrow rock, with a beacon tower on top to warn ships when rocks submerged beneath the tide. But it really does look like an old sub!

I did a great 4 mile hike and on the way home decided to stop at Beacon Rock, an 840 ft boulder on the Washington side of the Columbia river.
"I'll just walk around a bit" I said. I found a trail that started going up and realized it was going all the way to the top.
"Well shit, I can't very well tell ppl I hiked HALF way up the rock. I guess I'm going to the top!"
I am 100% broke the eff off, but that view was worth it.
