🏛✨ Le Marble Hall de Mount Stuart House, sur l’île de Bute, a ce genre d’élégance qui donne l’impression qu’un palais et une cathédrale ont décidé de collaborer.

Marbre, colonnes, lumière, démesure savamment orchestrée… tout semble pensé pour en mettre plein les yeux sans jamais perdre en raffinement.
Un intérieur si spectaculaire qu’on s’attend presque à voir entrer un duc, un fantôme, ou les deux.

After visiting my chums at the bookshop (so nice to be back for even a little while, & so many hugs 🤗🫂), I walked across #Bruntsfield Links to Tollcross.

Sadly the earlier sun was giving way to clouds & rain by then. Still a nice spot for views: Victorian stone tenements, towering spire of Barclay Viewforth Church, the Castle & the great, extinct volcano of Arthur's Seat, all from one spot

🦌🪽 Mi-cerf, mi-oiseau : cette étrange créature sculptée sur la King’s Fountain de Linlithgow Palace a tout d’un détail qu’on n’oublie pas.

Dans l’Écosse Renaissance, même une fontaine royale pouvait se permettre un petit détour par le bestiaire fantastique.
Et franchement, avec une allure pareille, on comprend pourquoi ce genre de figure traverse les siècles sans perdre une plume. 😄
