B.C. Rich Mockingbird Legacy STQ
B.C. Rich guitars was founded in by Bernardo Chavez Rico in 1974. Their wild, pointy guitar shapes would prove popular with hard rock and metal guitarists in the 1980s.The company has since changed ownership several times over the years, with the quality varying rather significantly depending upon who was in charge at the time, but the brand nevertheless retains a devout and passionate fan base.
Someone commented last Halloween that the Wylde Audio Barbarian https://beige.party/@Neat_hot/113403966881874943 looks like half a B.C. Rich, and we can see that. It essentially mirrored the top half of a Mockingbird. Whereas on an actual Mockingbird, it does not look like the top and bottom halves necessarily know or care what the other side is up to. Even the headstock looks like they accidentally stuck two different designs together. It all sort of works out somehow though.
This model is a neckthrough construction with a curvy and pointy body shape that probably does not care what other guitars think of it. The 24 fret neck has notched diamond inlays. It features a massive hardtail bridge, two humbuckers and a bevy of mismatched knobs and switches for coil tapping, phase switching, and varitone… toning.
It has a quilted maple top stained purple over a mahogany body stained a different shade of purple (more of a maroon, really.)
There is absolutely nothing subtle about this guitar. but should you happen to book that gig at vampire ball, which, you know, due to its nature might be the last performance of your mortal life, then why not go out with some style?
