Samick JTR EV-10 Elvira

Well so did Elvira! Or at least, so did Samick. When we were young, there was a pizza place that had an Elvira pinball machine. But, truth be told, we are actually not that familiar with Elvira’s body of work. We have no idea if she even plays guitar at all.
Samick is a Korean company who we vaguely recall once claimed to be the biggest guitar manufacturer on the planet. Maybe they were, maybe they are, maybe it was just hype. (Maybe we made that up?) In any case, they mostly build licensed import models for other brands. (Putting the “by” in “[Something] by [Somebody].” They also occasionally make their own branded instruments.
This is a 24 fret SG-type shape with violin style cutouts. Single hubucker, single knob. String-through-body, which seems to be how Elvira likes it? And not to brag, but we were right, it does look cool as hell.
Painted with a black top over a candy apple red body, which gives 60s Adam West Batmobile vibes. Not purple though, which is a shame. But we’re trick-or-treating here! Maybe the next house will have something good.
B.C. Rich Warlock Elvira
The B.C. Rich Warlock is an aggressively pointy guitar. Your basic set neck, couple of humbuckers, tune-o-matic bridge style, but aggressively pointy.
This is the limited edition Elvira model from 2001. It features body binding, string-through-body ferrules, a custom bat 12th fret inlay with no other fret markers, and a nearly life-sized headshot of Elvira: Mistress of the Dark on the body. The picture has a slight purplish tint to it for some reason, which is good enough for our purposes here.
Also, this specific guitar has been autographed and held by actress Cassandra Peterson, who btw, was 50 in the year this guitar was released, (no idea when this picture was actually taken). So good for her.
You might be thinking, didn’t we just feature another guitar from this same brand earlier this month‽ Must be the season of the [B.C.] Rich.

Everyone always talks about Elvira all October, but what about the woman behind the original big titty goth girlfriend of our dreams, Cassandra Peterson? 
This is why we're celebrating #NoViraNovember, a new movie "holiday" where we only watch movies with Cassandra credited as a character that isn't Elvira. Here's the lineup:
★ Pee-wee's Big Adventure - Tim Burton's directorial debut and an epic collaboration of two members of The Groundlings, this movie is an all time whimsical classic! 
★ Balboa - A mostly forgotten made for TV film with an extremely limited physical release. There are rumors the home release has added nudity?!? So we tracked down a VHS copy as it doesn't seem to be archived online! 
★ Allan Quatermain and the Lost City of Gold - This movie was the sequel to King Solomon's Mines and was filmed back-to-back! While the first movie was a major success, this one is a classic 80's box office bomb. 
★ The Working Girls - Cassandra Peterson's first credited role! This rare sexploitation film directed by a woman has been lauded for its feminist themes. And yes, this is that film. You know, the one where you see Cassandra's uncensored naked titties. 
★ All About Evil - One of Cassandra's rare horror outings outside of the Elviraverse, this black comedy slasher film is sure to leave you rolling on the floor! One way or another... 
This epic lineup includes films from Scarecrow Video, one of the largest video stores left in the United States, and a physical media heaven worthy of support. Hope to see y'all there!
