Rationally, for financial reasons, if not the ne plus ultra of living in a clean environment, everyone amd all business would generate their own renewable energy and drive electric for their vehicle needs.
We already have a electricity grid to 99.99% of buildings. Adding rooftop solar adds all the energy and more to go heatpumps and EV.
All possible now unless you really insist on the voluntary taxation of fossil fuels!

Probably better to have a smaller battery, based on average usage. Add more later if needed.
Also seek out bi-directional charging solutions and use your EV as additional storage capacity. An ID.4 would have 80kWh capacity. 8 days of additional backup for your home. And if a real crisis, you can charge elsewhere and bring more energy back home.
