You Don’t Need Solar to Benefit from Battery Storage
Most businesses assume battery storage only makes sense if you have solar panels
Battery systems can deliver significant benefits on their own, including:
• Buying electricity at it’s cheapest
• Reducing peak demand charges
• Providing backup power
• Supporting EV infrastructure
• Improving energy management
They can also be installed faster than full solar projects

So much for everything’s bigger… oh wait.
SEIA + Benchmark Mineral Intelligence say U.S. battery storage hit a record 57.6 GWh installed in 2025, and Texas is projected to pass California in 2026.
That’s a lot of electrons herded—who’s still calling this a fad? 😼

U.S. battery storage installations hit a record 57.6 GWh in 2025, and Texas is now poised to surpass California as the nationâ(TM)s largest storage market in 2026. Electrek reports: According to the US Energy Storage Market Outlook Q1 2026 from the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) an...

Our main generator wasn't working. Would go through 3 or 4 start cycles before the battery was flat - despite that battery having been on a maintainer for weeks.
Tried putting our best charger on it, and kept going into 'reconditioning' mode. That finally finished and it still wouldn't work - even with a jump start.
Swapped batteries with our other generator and it fired right up. So this battery is toast. So bad it pulls down the 200A jump starter.
It's a 'sealed' lead acid. But not really. lol. the plate over the ports is just glued on. and the refill holes are just covered in rubber caps. The gases can get by that. If it were to tip over the electrolyte would find its way out.
So don't be fooled by 'sealed' batteries being safer to charge indoors. AGM's will have quality release valves that will only vent hydrogen gas if overcharged. These 'low maintenance' batteries are NOT AGM's unless they clearly say so on the label.
I'm tempted to try adding distilled water and give it an equalization charge, but these lawnmower style batteries are probably quite cheap, and I don't feel like blowing myself up today.
