It looks like Duolingo - for a couple of years now my go-to app for learning spoken languages - is putting profit and fad ahead of people and quality. Using AI to replace human language experts.

I'm out. Canceling my annual paid subscription and no longer giving them any data to work with.

Looking for good quality apps to get me up to basic conversational level. Willing to pay for quality and good employment practices.

In Australia, some KFC employees have taken up smoking in order to get a 10 min break during work hours. Employees not smoking were not allowed to take a break.
