Australia’s main grid hits new renewable record share of 77.9 per cent, driven by rooftop solar – the second time in 48 hours that the record has been broken.

Driven by large amounts of rooftop solar generation, which on this occasion accounted for more than 43 % of grid demand.

The share might have been higher but large amounts, five GW– of potential large scale wind and solar output was curtailed, mostly due to negative prices.

As usual, in the lead-up to #InvasionDay, I’ve been revisiting books to recommend that provide a better reflection of life in contemporary Australia (by which I mean the last 20 years) than a national(istic) holiday on the worst possible date. Here’s the list of titles we’ve come up with so far. Please feel free to share your own. (Link in bio or https://larsenkeys.com.au/2017/01/16/books-about-modernaustralia/)
