Scientists in Cyprus are using a small swarm of drones to help artificial reefs attract sea life.

A swarm of submersibles will be used to monitor and provide data on offshore artificial reefs intended to attract marine life in otherwise barren sections of sea.

The drones can stay underwater for as long as a month at a time, providing continuous data and “protecting” the reefs.

Temple Reef (Ecosystems 🏞️)

Temple Reef is an artificial reef off the coast of Pondicherry, India. It was constructed of fully recycled materials such as concrete blocks, rocks, trees, palm leaves, and iron bars by the Temple Adventures team starting from October 2013. Temple Reef Foundation currently maintains and monitors the reef.
