I’ve used Hive Books off and on for a number of years as my antidote to Amazon and they are generally very good.
You can also choose to have a small percentage of your purchase donated to an independent local bookshop of your choice.
However, I have no idea if they can deliver before this Christmas.

Das Problem dabei ist, dass es eine Übersicht von Händlern nach Kategorien ist. Kategorien funktionieren aber im realen Leben selten. Was man m.E. bräuchte um Amazon etwas entgegen zu halten, wäre eine offene Platform auf die Händler Produkte laden können und in der man bei der Suche nach einem Produkt dann die Händler findet. Das ohne die verzerrende Wirkung von Google u. Co., eine Art ProduktPedia mit Händler API.

I am still only on Amazon, for now. As soon as I finish the third and final volume in my series, I'm going to expand to every platform I can find.

An eBook seller with some actual business ethics. No hardware (which simpilifies things), but they have an app for Android and iOS, and any DRM-free titles can be downloaded and read on just about anything.
