53 years ago today, my favourite of the #NASA #Apollo #Moon missions blasted off. #Apollo12 was unique in many ways, but for me, it was the mission where the #astronauts rendezvoused with #Surveyor3 - an unmanned probe already on the lunar surface, the only time man has caught up with a previously launched craft.
After he returned to earth Alan Bean became a painter - mostly painting his lunar experiences. One of my ambitions is to own an #alanbean print. One day...
