A 2026 psychological thriller in Hindi, directed by Anubhuti Kashyap and produced by Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, Somen Mishra and Adar Poonawalla under Dharmatic Entertainment. The film stars the excellent Konkona Sen Sharma and Pratibha Ranta in the lead roles.

This film has a distinct TV movie (Netflix) feel to it. I can’t say it’s a gripping film. It sorely lacks verve and energy. Yet the actors are good and the story isn’t too bad, though it’s relatively run-of-the-mill by now. It deals with the sort of issues we hear about every day, on various levels. Admittedly, not everyone gets accused of a crime, but there are also issues of loyalty, friendship, gay relationships, the open-mindedness of Indian families, and so on. When I say Indian family, it could be anyone, from any non-European country, though we mustn’t lose sight of the fact that some conservatives still live as if in the Middle Ages.

It felt like it dragged on, but at the same time, everything is easy to follow so it’s not a headache. If you’re looking for a proper thriller, look elsewhere for something that doesn’t feel like a long-running soap opera. If you’re looking for an action film, you’ll fall asleep from the very first scene. Nor is it a comedy-drama, as there’s, on the face of it, nothing funny here. It’s very much a psychological drama for your Sunday afternoon, far more so than a proper thriller.

Worth watching once for those who enjoy this sort of storyline, or for those who are very easy-going and open to anything.

It’s quite exhilarating, for me, to watch a film featuring Indians without it being a Bollywood production. No one starts dancing for no reason in the middle of a scene, and the film doesn’t run for three hours either. There’s even the strip club cliché, which is supposed to be in all good crime films, followed by a short chase set to funky music with a great bass line!

Once again, we see the inefficiency of the justice system, but that hasn’t been a secret for a very long time. If a burglar breaks in and steals nothing, the police do nothing, even if important information has been stolen.

Perfect for people who like simple dialogue and long, slow-paced feature films that are quite realistic.

The ending is predictable, with no surprises. The music in the credits is a bit too energetic and gives the impression that we’ve just watched a James Bond film.

Pratibha Ranta is the most fabulous actress of the lead duo, as well as the standout performer in the entire film.

Worth watching to pass the time for those who are easy-going, don’t get bored easily, or simply enjoy seeing slices of life in films.

Thriller psychologique en langue indienne 2026 réalisé par Anubhuti Kashyap et produit par Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, Somen Mishra et Adar Poonawalla sous Dharmatic Entertainment. Le film met en vedette les excellentes Konkona Sen Sharma et Pratibha Ranta dans les rôles principaux.

Ce film a de sacrés airs de téléfilm. Je ne peux pas dire que c’est un film palpitant. Il manque royalement de peps, d’énergie. Pourtant, les acteurs sont bons et l’histoire pas trop mal, bien que relativement banale maintenant. C’est un peu les soucis dont on entend tous les jours parler, à divers niveaux. Certes, tout le monde ne se fait pas accuser d’un crime, mais il y a aussi les question de loyauté, d’amitié, de couple gay, d’ouverture d’esprit de familles indiennes, etc. Quand je dis famille indienne, ça peut être n’importe qui, n’importe quel pays non européen, sans pour autant perdre de vue que certains conservateurs vivent encore comme au moyen-âge.

Le temps m’a paru long, mais, en même temps, tout est simple à comprendre donc pas prise de tête. Si vous cherchez un vrai thriller, tournez-vous vers autre chose qui ne ressemble pas à un long feuilleton. Si vous cherchez un film d’action, vous allez vous endormir dès la première scène. Ce n’est pas non plus une comédie dramatique, car il n’y a, a priori, rien de drôle ici. C’est bel et bien un drame psychologique pour votre dimanche après-midi, bien plus qu’un véritable thriller.

À voir une fois pour ceux qui aiment ce genre de trame ou pour ceux qui sont très bon public et ouverts à tout.

C’est assez grisant, pour moi, de voir un film avec des indiens sans pour autant que ça soit du Bollywood. Il n’y a personne qui se met à danser sans raison au milieu d’une scène et le film ne dure pas trois heures non plus. Il y a même le cliché du club de striptease, censé être dans les bons films policiers, suivi d’une petite poursuite sur fond de musique funky avec une bonne basse mise en évidence !

On voit une fois de plus l’inefficacité de la Justice, mais ce n’est plus un secret depuis très longtemps. Si un cambrioleur entre par effraction et ne vole rien, la police ne fait rien, même si des informations importantes ont été volées.

Parfait pour les personnes qui aiment les dialogues simples, les long-métrages longs et lents qui sont assez réalistes.

La fin est attendue, rien de surprenant. La musique dans le générique est un peu trop énergique et donne l’impression qu’on vient de voir un film de James Bond.

Pratibha Ranta est l’actrice la plus fabuleuse du duo de base, ainsi que l’actrice qui sort du lot de tout le film.

À voir pour passer le temps pour ceux qui sont bon public, ne s’ennuient pas facilement ou qui aiment simplement voir des tranches de vie dans des films.
