For those unable to listen in, @thebreakdown will be live-tweeting the anti #trans policy(?) presser supposedly starting at 13:30 today.

Indeed. IIRC, he also shuttered the #Jasper Booster the same week (day?) but they were at a different point in their production cycle so sales were still out selling ads snd then suddenly the next day there was no paper for the ads to run the following week.
😡
Having been a rural reporter covering two (and a small slice of a third) counties, having more than two of us for this would've been amazing -- off the top of my head the ratio you're mentioning would've given us 5-6 reporters to cover this same territory.
Would've made an immediate difference in the ability to cover town council meetings, which for some reason were all coincidentially scheduled on the same evenings/times as all neighbouring communities. 🤔
One of the unanticipated fun quirks of rural reporting was covering the annual New Year's Baby story, which with a smaller population was often not especially close to New Year's Day!

Ack! As a former reporter for that area, I am sad to say I do not remember! ☹️ However, I recall that it was an enjoyable time -- lots of enthusiastic folks.
The drive is lovely from Edmonton.
Not a #parade, but I think there is also now some sort of dinosaur park in the region?

Back in 2009 a group of trans people across Alberta came together to form the Trans Equality Society of Alberta. I was one of those co-founders.
Most people had ZERO idea about trans people, and that included media. We spent countless volunteer hours helping folks understand.
Tonight's sharing of *knowledgeable outrage* from community and allies alike has been incredibly heartening!
HUGE knowledge change in just 15 years. ❤️ Thank you!
Can't make this sort of stuff up without sounding utterly ridiculous: Calgary Herald building sold to U-Haul.
