Alveolar echinococcosis and anaplasmosis are now listed as communicable diseases that require reporting under Prince Edward Island's Public Health Act, effective March 21. There are no outbreaks on P.E.I., but both diseases can cause negative health effects.

This unfortunately is true for Scotland and NI as well. And the Guardian (whose report it is) is s significant part of the confusion. SE England is frequently meant when UK is used as a label. Laws, reserved powers and more are not understood or just ignored by many journalists.

Even with a disclaimer in the profile, acknowledging AI use, human-to-human discourse is likely to be poisoned by unrecognized commentary of nonhuman origin. I am accordingly #reporting this "accesstive" account.
