Every now and then I come across a road sign which raises more questions than it answers. This is one such sign I spotted today in Bowling just to the west of Glasgow.

Unlike some of the ferry problems out on the Hebrides there is a road alternative to the #CorranFerry, but rather than the six minute crossing and about ten miles straight up the #A82 to #FortWilliam it’s three times the distance more than half of which is the #A861, a single track road with passing places.
