Can't wait to return to the highlands in mid-August, Workshop and Adventures being announced soon - https://markstothard.photography/events
The thought about "Monarch of the Glen" came about because I found my first discarded Red Deer antler of the season. I'm hoping to find lots more in the coming weeks. I cut the antlers into shorter sections to make dog chews for #Gruoch. She loves chewing antlers, and they are great for her teeth.
I shared this #photo with wifey, who is away with NJ right now. She said it looks like the sky is fake.
And yeah, it looks like an old version of TerraGen made it. But I added #NoFilters to this photo off our rugged home landscape.
Edwin Landseer missed a trick when he painted his famous portrait of a Highland stag, in 1851. The painting is named "The Monarch of the Glen".
Antlers with 12 points are called Royals, 14 points are Imperials, and 16+ points are Monarchs. Landseer should have painted the stag with 16 points. 😃
