...one cannot become an "expert" by intensely studying a single fragment of anything.
such dedications are a waste of effort that provide no deep knowlege or insight and forces one to be completely oblivious to the whole object, its purposes, and its interconnectivity in the grander scheme of all surrounding things.

they may call themselves "specialist" by doing this, but all they really specialize in is the arrogance of their ignorance.
