Now here’s a movie I hadn’t seen in over 20 years. Talk about a trip down memory lane: I stumbled across the same special edition DVD I used to own a loong time ago while browsing a flea market.

Even back then, I remember wondering what the hell this movie had to do with the games beyond borrowing names like Umbrella Corporation, Raccoon City, and the T-virus, and using licker monsters. Milla Jovovich has zero charisma, the plot is plain dumb, the style of editing is super irritating, the CGI looked bad even at the time and the soundtrack is just annoying.

And yet… in its own way, it’s peak early 2000s cheese. And I mean this movie has tons and tons of cheese. There’s no way anyone could take this one seriously. Resident Evil is one of those ’so bad, it’s good’ flicks. But mostly it’s just soo bad, haha. Geez. My brain hurts now.
