When Petter discovered “Ada & #Zangemann”, he immediately felt the urge to make sure the story was available to the #Norwegian speakers. Now “Ada og Zangemann - En fortelling om programvare, rullebrett og bringebæris” has been published and was presented during the Norwegian local celebrations of #ilovefs.
Read Petter’s story and if you like what he did, join me in a round of applause for Petter 👏👏 👏 👏 https://fsfe.org/news/2026/news-20260302-01.en.html

Anyone here in the #FreeSoftware #OpenSource community who can help to proofread the Finnish translation of Ada & #Zangemann ?

At #FOSDEM I promised people that if you attend the talk by @nicorikken and myself you will feel better afterwards. From the feedback we received I think we accomplished this.
The recording of the talk "Automating translation of a bestseller to spark children's interest in coding" is now also online here, so if you ever need some "feel good" moments around #softwarefreedom feel free to watch: https://fosdem.org/2026/schedule/event/R9Q9ZP-ada-zangemann-bestseller-automation/ #zangemann
Hi @kirschner
I think you already know how important your book "Ada & #Zangemann" is for our free software movement. But something inside me still thinks that you underestimate it!
Meanwhile I have read the book (or watched the movie, or heard the audio book) tens of times with my daughter and every time I do, I am astonished how beautiful, relatable, and encompassing the story and the drawings are. I see how deep it touches not only her creativity and sense of freedom seeking, but also mine.
