@ami_angelwings @Steveg58 Yeah, there’s a definite sense that #YuYuYu is actively deconstructing Madoka, and critiquing its viewpoint. I think that there are still criticisms of YuYuYu to be made in terms of the handling of disabilities, especially at the end of S1, but overall I think I like the general message of YuYuYu better than that of Madoka.

@ami_angelwings @Steveg58 #YuYuYu is a very underrated show IMO. It took a couple of viewings before I really appreciated what the 2nd and 3rd seasons were doing, but in the end, very satisfying resolution.

I mean I know it’s the WHOLE aesthetic of these “gentle apocalypse” shows (a term, IIRC, that I picked up from @rdm doing a panel at #Swancon one year) but it’s questionable over decades, let alone the centuries (I think) that #YukiYuunaIsAHero #YuYuYu pulled in its finale…
